Tara J. Calder, 54, Scottsbluff

Tara J. Calder, 54, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado following a brief illness. Tara was born January 27, 1968, in Boulder, Colorado to Lee Roy and Jacqueline (Anderson) Freeman. She attended Base Line Junior High School and then Fairview High School from 1984 to 1987 in Boulder.

She became a proud mother to her son, Jake. Tara later met and married John Calder. They made their home in Scottsbluff. Tara and John were both motorcycle enthusiasts and together they shared many Harley trips throughout the years.

Tara discovered her passion when she began bartending at the Rompus Room in Gering. She truly enjoyed her job and the customers she met, many who became great friends.

Home was her favorite place to be when not at work. Tara made her household a cozy, welcoming place where friends and family would gather and delight in her delicious, homemade meals. Her backyard was just as comfortable with a large swimming pool she could often be found relaxing in during the summer months.

Survivors include her husband, John Calder; son, Jake (Jennifer) Humphrey; step-daughter, Chancy Kaufman; five grandchildren; brother, Rob Freeman; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

Tara was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; her parents, Lee and Jackie; brother, Scott Freeman; and aunt, Joyce Anderson.
