Suzanne Reese Ascanio, age 86 of Scottsbluff Nebraska, passed away peacefully in her home on October 5th 2023.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff Nebraska. A memorial has been established to the Panhandle Humane Society.
Sue was born January 6, 1937 in St. Louis Missouri to Paul and Dorthy Reese. Sue received her early education in Moore Park California and later graduated high school in St. Louis MO.
Sue met James Ascanio while she was working at Rainbow Color Print in Pittsburg KS. They were married on July 1, 1983. Sue and Jim lived in Pittsburg, KS, Kenosha, WI and Lancaster, SC before retiring in Scottsbluff in 2006.
Sue was an avid book reader and always seemed to find a connection at the local library and was able to get books before they were placed on the shelf. Sue had a love for animals. She enjoyed going for walks with the dogs, reading books and spending time with family and friends. She had a soft spot in her heart for her “outside” cats along with her lap kitty Leo-pard.
Survivors include her sister Joan Frisbie, son and daughter-in-Law Chris and Mary Boston, son Jeff Boston, nieces Carol Hamadi and Stephanie McClure, 4 grand children and 11 great grandchildren.
Sue was proceeded in death by her husband Jim, parents, Paul Reese, step mother Clara, mother Dorothy Dreiling, her two brothers Paul Reese and Richard Jepsen, and 4 nephews.
