Stephanie was born in Scottsbluff on December 1, 1964 to Erenio “Ernie” and Pilar “Polly Baca Zamora of Lyman, Nebraska. Stephanie was the youngest of 5 siblings, including sisters Ramona, Ester, Jenny, Irene and brother Jerry. She graduated high school from Lyman Public Schools and then continued her education at Nebraska Western College to earn an Associate’s Degree while she always strived to be at the top of her class.

In her younger years, she worked at various jobs including Moreno’s Restaurant, Kmart Pharmacy, Lyman Public Library, Panhandle Community Services and eventually found her passion for service as a Para educator for Morrill Public Schools, where she devoted over 21 years.

Stephanie was united in marriage to Arthur Steiner, Jr on November 7, 1992 at St Theresa’s Catholic Church and to this union, three daughters were born Sydney Pilar, Bailee Marie and Jaiden Arin. Her extreme devotion would describe her love for her daughters as she followed them throughout the Midwest to support any activities they were involved in. She was always quick to offer her guidance and encouragement while giving her blunt recommendations in any situation.

Stephanie is survived by her husband Arthur, daughters Sydney, Bailee and Jaiden, and grandson Blake Gladson (Dalton Gladson); sisters Ramona (Bob Hill), Ester Simpson, Jenny (Chuck Barela) and Irene Flores; nieces Sabrina, Rhonda and Heather; nephews Bobby, Johnny and Sean; sisters-in-law Cindy (Gary Larson) and Sheila (Mike Hort) and special friends Anne (Larry Jacobsen).

Stephanie was preceded in death by her mother Polly and father Ernie Zamora, mother and father-in-law Donna and Arthur Steiner, Sr., brother-in-law Doug Steiner, nieces Dana McKiney and Sophia Flores and nephew Joey Cawthra.

Steph was a survivor of three major battles with her health. From 2010-2013 she battled Lymphoma and was successfully treated at the University of Colorado when her right lung had fallen septic and shut down. While intubated her heart had to be disconnected and hooked to a lung machine for 10 days to regain proper function. She graciously recovered with acute therapy. September of 2023 her pain had returned and she was diagnosed with Polymyalgia that was thankfully in remission. However, cancer had slowly crept back in and was beyond treatment.

We were blessed to have 11 years with her after her first treatment. We would like to thank the University of Colorado as well as Morrill County Community Hospital for their care and compassion. A special thank-you to all our friends, family and community that have stood behind us through every step.
