Socorro was born in Auga Prieta, Mexico, December 31, 1947, to parents, Manuel and Carmen (Gonzolas) Silva. When she got her green card, she and her husband, Ramero Perez, moved to Minatare, Nebraska, in 1968. They had three children: one daughter, Maria Estella (with husband, Robert) Umland, and two sons, Junior and Alex Perez. Socorro’s union with Ramero ended in February of 1989, and she married Chester Rosser on August 24, 1991. They loved each other very much. She became a U.S. Citizen on July 2, 1999.

Over the years, Socorro worked at numerous places, including Head Start in Minatare and Scottsbluff for many years. She was employed by Lockwood Corporation from 1974 until they closed their doors in 2000, after which she went to work for Universal Irrigation, where she continued building control and alignment boxes for circular irrigation systems. Then, she became a housekeeper for Heritage Estates in Gering, where she remained for 13 years until her retirement in 2019.

One could often find her frequenting yard sales and auctions, which were some of her favorite things. Socorro had so many friends throughout the years, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 32 years, Chester; her three children and their families; four grandchildren: Laney (Sean) Kelly, Aaron Umland, and Drayton and Jessy Hughes; siblings, Martina, Lupe, and Pedro Gonzolas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Antonio Gonzolas.
