Sharon was born on August 21, 1938, in Gering to Alvin and Bernice (Lonsdale) Carmody. She received her early education in the Gering schools, graduating from Gering High School in 1956. She married Frank Wooden on November 2, 1959 in Alliance, Nebraska, and this union was blessed with three children: Greg, Cyndee, and Julie.

Family was everything to Sharon, and she took great pleasure in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always their cheerleader, from volunteering at their schools and events to being a Campfire Girl Leader. Christmas was her favorite time of year, along with any time that brought the whole family together. As evidenced by a large stash of fabrics, her favorite past time was sewing and quilting, along with crafting, attending local craft fairs and antiquing with her best friend Patsy. She loved planning picnics, and would always bring her fried chicken. She was a member of Dome Rock Chapter No. 215 Order of The Eastern Star.

Survivors include her children, Greg (Judy) Wooden, Cyndee (Lisa Berry) Wooden, and Julie Martinez; grandchildren, Melissa (Alex), Bryan (Stephanie), Stephanie (Zack), and Natalie (Schyler); numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Melvin, Marvin, Shirley, and Robert; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frank.

Deeply loved as the matriarch of her family, she will be dearly missed.

She was our Mom and Grandma.
