Rosemary was born July 27, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas to Jesus and Nellie (Lerrick) Gomez. Rosemary was close to her mom and dad and would make it a point to visit them daily. She enjoyed spending time talking with her parents.

Rosemary married Victor Hernandez on August 14th, 1971. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage. Rosemary had an appreciation for cooking and having family over at her house. She would often have many get-togethers and would cook enough food to feed an army. She loved making homemade meals which included her famous pork-chili, costias, and homemade flour tortillas. When not cooking, she enjoyed sitting in her chair, listening to music, and watching, “Molly B, The Big Joe Polka Show” or “The Lawerence Welk Show”. Rosemary adored her pets, especially her Chihuahua named, “Chula.” Rosemary was also a proud grandmother who enjoyed babysitting all her grandchildren. She was especially close to Maximus and Victor and was a crucial piece to their upbringing. She enjoyed making lunch for the boys and sending grandpa to pick them up to eat, “grandma’s cooking”, for lunch.

Rosemary naturally became a loving mother when we welcomed each of her four children: Josie, Rosa, Jeff, and June “Cha- Cha”. She was a proud mom who looked forward to talking to her children every chance she could. It was not uncommon for her to call them several times a day.

Survivors include her husband, Victor Hernandez; her children, Rosa (Monica) Hernandez, Josie (Candalario) Gomez, Jeff (Lisa) Hernandez, and June Palomo (Art Maldonado). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joey Orozco, Marissa (Trevor) Cornelius, Ciara Hernandez, Maximus Palomo, Victor Palomo, Izzy Maldonado, Angel Maldonado, Jessica (Cenovio) Gonazlez, Mona Galindo, Candalario Gomez Jr, and Josefina Gomez; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Nellie; brother, Jessie Gomez; nephew, Marty Gomez; and niece, Jackie Para.

Quina will forever be missed, and no family party will ever be the same without her.
