Rosalie A. Lochman, 99, Scottsbluff
October 5, 1923 - March 5, 2023

Rosalie A. Lochman, age 99, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, went home to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, March 5, 2023.

Rosalie was born on October 5, 1923, to John and Katherine (Funk) Lochman in Bayard, Nebraska. She was the youngest of eight children. She had six sisters and one brother.

Rosalie grew up knowing what hard work was. She would help her mother with household chores until she was old enough to start working in the fields with the rest of the family. Rosalie would work side by side with her father and siblings in the beet fields, doing her best to keep up, even though she was just a tiny little thing.

In her later years, Rosalie became a CAN/MA and worked in nursing home until she retired. She loved her job and treated every person in her care with the greatest respect and love.

Rosalie loved music. She played the organ and accordion. She loved to dance, no matter the occasion: if it was a wedding, a group gathering at the retirement community, or just at home in the living room. If there was music, she was the first one up, dancing. Just weeks before her passing, she was still moving to the beat of the drum.

Rosalie also loved her craft projects. Anyone who ever visited Rosalie’s home could see her talents on display. She enjoyed painting, plastic canvas, and repurposing just about anything.

Rosalie was a fashionista! Her wardrobe was filled with sparkle, glamour, and glitz! She never left the house without being dressed to the nines. And if the outfit didn’t have quite enough sparkle to it? No worries, she would always add her own touches to it to give it the extra wow factor.

Rosalie loved her family and God. She put God first in every aspect of her life. She was the most faithful person you would ever meet.

Rosalie will be remembered as a caring, loving, wonderful, God-fearing woman, who always put everyone else first. She would give you her last dollar if you were in need. To everyone she met, she was a ray of sunshine and laughter. To us, she was the world, and the world is a little darker now without that glorious smile.

Rosalie was pre-deceased by her parents, John and Katherine (Funk) Lochman; siblings, Katherine, Margaret, Anna, Katie, Pauline, Fred, and Mary; children, Robert E. Buxbaum, Gloria A. Young, LeRoy Buxbaum, Kenneth J. Buxbaum, and Ricky Fries; granddaughter, Sheryl Young; and great-grandson, Conen.

She is survived by her children, Roland J. (Maxine) Buxbaum, Judith S. Roth, and Penne (Lyle) Claussen; 21 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Gering Memorial Chapel on March 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe Peterson officiating. Her final resting place will be at Bayard Cemetery and inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made in care of the family to be designated at a later date. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.geringchapel.com for the family.
