Born October 1st, 1950 in Scottsbluff Nebraska, to Carrol C. Aden and Mary A. Case Aden. He attended Scottsbluff schools and later graduated from St. Johns Military Academy. After graduation, he entered the workforce, where he worked for Con Edison for numerous years allowing him to travel and see numerous parts of the world, including Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, and many other destinations around the country.

Rodney had an adventurous spirit and always lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed all walks of life. Sports was a passion he adored and went all out for. From attending the Kentucky Derby – to attending at least three separate World Series, Rod cheered on his favorite competitors with a fiery spirit. Attending and bonding over the Indy 500 with his brothers and friends was a love that Rod always enjoyed. But his greatest love of all was his two sons. Going to the Little League World Series with his two boys are fond memories that he shared as well as a passion he hoped to pass on to Zach and Dylan. He enjoyed scuba diving from the beautiful waters of the Florida Keys to the Bahamas. He shared this love with his friends and family.

A little over a year ago, Rodney fell in love with a little friend that he adopted from the Panhandle Humane Society, Herbie. The two enjoyed spending time with each other, watching TV and going on walks (though Herb seemed to enjoy them a lot more than Rodney did).

He is survived by his sister Florence E. Gable of Scottsbluff, NE; brothers Wesley E. Aden and Jack D. Aden of Scottsbluff, NE; sons Zach and Dylan of New York, NY; stepson Bryan Aden of Ohama NE; daughter Nicole De Leon of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren Kathyrn, Travis, Jacob, Lucas, and Gretchen Stakebake of Mesa, AZ along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Tina Aden, and Chet and Florance Case; parents Carroll C. Aden, Mary Alice Case Aden; stepfather Earl F. Schilangen; brother-in-law William Mike Gable and sister-in-law Esther Aden
