Robert “Bob” M. Kiesel, 85 of Gering, Nebraska passed away Friday, September 30, 2022. A wake will be held at Gering Memorial Chapel from 4:00 p.m. –6:00 p.m. on Sunday October 2, and the memorial service will be at Gering Zion Church on Monday, October 3, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Tim Hebbert officiating. A private family inurnment will be at West Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Gering Volunteer Fire Department or to Gering Zion Church. Bob was born to Sylvester and Mildred Kiesel in Scotts Bluff County on November 14, 1936. He graduated from Minatare High School in May of 1955.

Bob grew up on a farm in Minatare where he participated in 4-H and FFA and proudly won the Scotts Bluff County Grand Champion Angus Beef. Bob met the love of his life, Aldora “Dori” Kaufman, got married on November 17, 1957, and made their home in Gering Valley. Bob farmed in Gering Valley for over 60 years. He served in the National Guard, served on the Gering Zion Board, and served as a 4-H Leader. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play and tractor pulling,

He was preceded in death by his parents, is brother and sister-in-law, Don and Jane Kiesel; brothers-in-law Wilford Kaufman; Melvin Grasmick; and Blackie Harimon and sister-in-law, Barbara Kaufman.

He is survived by his wife, Dori Kiesel; Sons, Rob & Becky Kiesel and Randie & Susan Kiesel, Daughter, Jackie and Dan Smith; Grandchildren Miranda Kiesel and Dan Anderson; Jeremy and Melissa Berger; Brandy and Javier Muratalla; Brooke & Aaron Raines, Cody & Alexis Kiesel, Abby & Austin Hoffman; Dani Smith, Riley & Brett Mahnke, Baylen Smith; Great Grandchildren Finnian and Marceline Kiesel-Anderson; Triston, Alisha, Bailey Berger, Austin Gonzales, Danielle Berger, Natalie Muratalla; Elliot & Beckett Raines; Audri & Baby Boy Kiesel (expected soon); and Lachlan Mahnke.

Also survived by several brother and sister-in-laws Shirley Harimon, Barbara & Tony Popp, Harvey & Patty Kaufman, Pam & Tom Rehm and many nephews and nieces.
