Rebecca Sue (Wellman) Guild, 68, of Gering passed away on May 5, 2024, aftera short battle with brain cancer.

She was born on June 7, 1955, to Jack and Louise (Clark) Wellman in Scottsbluff. After graduating from Gering high school, Becky attended beauty school to become an accomplished beautician with many loyal customers. She later started an electrology business. Becky spent some time in Dallas,Texas and finally settled in Fort Collins, Colorado where she met and married her husband, Daniel Guild. Together they had two sons. After a divorce, Becky returned to Gering. In 1998, Becky was diagnosed with an especially aggressive form of MS which she bravely and stubbornly fought forover 26 years. In April of 2024, Becky was taken to a Denver hospital where she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. From the hospital, Becky was transferred to a beautiful, kind, and loving hospice facility in Denver for her final days. Becky’s passing was very quiet and peaceful, surrounded by family.
Becky loved calico cats and was never without one in her life. She enjoyed collecting calico cat figurines and doing arts and craftsprojects.

Becky was preceded in death by her mother and father and several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her brother,Mike Wellman of Vail, Colorado; two sons, Aaron (Tracy) Guild of Greeley, Colorado and Andrew (Brittany) James of Scottsbluff. As well as nine grandchildren, Kiera, Kirstin, Kayla, Jaidyn, Jesse, Jaxson, Jace, Javelin, and Jamyson and 2 great grandchildren, Kaylin& Kenslee; her aunt Pat Haiston and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Becky was cremated and ashes will be spread at a memorial tree that was planted for her mother in a beautiful meadow high in the Colorado mountains where her mother and father’s ashes reside.

There will be a celebration of life service at the First United Methodist Church in Gering at 2:00 pm on June 8, 2024. Memorials can be made to the family and dropped off at the service or mailed to: Andrew James, 1905 Ave. K, Scottsbluff, NE 69361.
