Ramon L. Martinez, age 76, of Scottsbluff, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Fr. Joseph Thambi as Celebrant. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Ramon was born June 21, 1946, in Mercedes, Texas to Leondro Martinez and Isabel Castillo.
He married Frances Borreqo-Aquallo and he became a father to their four children. He later married Sabina Cervantes and had one child.
Ramon primarily worked in agriculture throughout his life. He was previously employed at McClain’s potato cellar, drove trucks, and operated other farm equipment.
Ramon also learned mechanic work and his true passion was working on old cars. He spent his free time building model cars and listening to country music. Ramon was very independent, but loved the company of others and was outgoing and social. He was always joking and making others laugh.
Survivors include his children, Raymond Martinez, Cynthia Cota, Gabrial Martinez, Diana (Steven) Sanchez, Amanda Dobrinski, Aaron Dobrinski, and Undreia Garza; 26 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Lupe Price and Paula Pena; and brother, Robert Martinez.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jesse and Abraham Martinez; and grandmother, Manuela Castillo.
