Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Philip V. Augustin died peacefully on Nov. 3, 2021 after a short illness. Philip dedicated himself to darkroom photography from an early age and is best known for his recent images of geometric forms and seven-year series on Yellowstone in winter, both exhibited and collected widely (philipaugustin.com/). Born on February 25, 1960 in Hutchinson, KS, Philip grew up in Scottsbluff, NE where he graduated from Scottsbluff Senior High School. He was a lifelong fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Philip earned a B.A. from Brooks Institute of Photography in California (1983) and spent most of his adult life in Salem, OR, and Santa Fe, NM. He is survived by his sister Jennifer Workman and her husband Darin of Liberal, KS, their daughter Caitlin and son Kris. Philip also leaves behind his loving partner Katherine Ware of Santa Fe and many friends and admirers across the country.
