Patricia Mary Bernhardt, 74 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at UC Health Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Northfield Church in Gering, with Dr. Kiley Callaway officiating. Burial will follow at the Bayard Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, from 4-7 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. Memorials can be given to Northfield Church. Patricia was born on April 7, 1949, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Lowell and Mary (Kizzire) Hintergardt. She received her early education in Bayard, graduating from Bayard High School in 1967. She took some classes at Apostolic Faith Bible College in Baxter Springs, Kansas, and Western Nebraska Community College.
She married Leroy Bernhardt on July 6, 1968, in Bayard, Nebraska. She and Leroy met in high school and started dating shortly after Pat graduated. To this union, three children were born: Christine, Craig and Candace.
For 20 years, Pat worked at Scottsbluff High School as a Certified Food Tech and was a custodian for Northfield Church for over 25 years.
She was a member of Northfield Church for over 50 years and spent many years volunteering in various areas, such as Sunday school superintendent and coordinating dinners for funerals, etc. She also volunteered with the 23 Booster Club and the Lake Alice Booster Club. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and volunteered to help with her children’s many activities. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling in a women’s league for several years.
Patricia was a beloved wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved traveling to watch her grandchildren perform in sports, dance, and musical activities. She was the family’s biggest supporter. She was known by many for her kindness, being a great listener, and her love for baking (especially her cinnamon rolls!).
Patricia is survived by her husband Leroy of Scottsbluff, NE; brothers Vern Hintergardt and George Hintergardt; daughter Christine (Angela) Bernhardt of Portland, OR; son Craig (Cindy) Bernhardt of Butte, MT; and daughter Candace (Jesse) Frey of Holly, CO; grandchildren Brittany (Mark) Ludwig of Seoul, South Korea, Andrew Walker of Scottsbluff, Victoria (Tucker) Serich, Haley (Brady) Rehm, and Alissa Bernhardt all of Butte, MT, Japheth Frey of Scottsbluff, NE, Emma Frey of Lawrence, KS and Janae Frey of Holly, CO; great grandchildren Olivia and Kenna Serich, Owen and Billee Rehm and Charlotte South.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father Robert Yeatts, and her sister Donna Fulk.
