Nola was born on December 1, 1939, in Gering to Melvin J and Louise (Koncilia) Flick. She graduated from Gering High School, and Scottsbluff Junior College, which is now Western Nebraska Community College. While she was in school, she enjoyed being part of the band, and played the French horn. Her favorite song was “Nola” by Billy Williams, for which she was named, and which even mentioned her blue eyes. She loved artists like Patsy Cline and LeAnn Rimes. As a mother, she was dedicated to her sons in all of their sporting events growing up, continuing that love with her grandchildren, who she enjoyed greatly. Nola met Monte Feather in 1984 and he would remain her life partner until her passing. They fondly recall their trips to Arkansas to visit Monte’s family, and for subsequent years to Las Vegas. She was a member of the Scottsbluff St. Francis Episcopal Church and was a Boy Scout Den Leader, being awarded Den Mother of the Year on occasion as well. Her relationship with God was paralleled by the closeness she felt with Pastor Bob Manasek, who would bring her communion once a month when she became too ill to attend church in person.

Survivors include her partner, Monte Feather; sons, Kevin, Kenneth, and Aaron; grandchildren, Leann, Andrew, Michael, Stephan, Kristina, Cameron, Casey, and Christopher; brother, Melvin Flick and sister-in-law, Sandra Flick; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Miles and Ron; and two husbands, Alvin and Don.
