Nicholas Scott Goodwin, 37, Scottsbluff, formerly of Ottumwa, Iowa

Nicholas Scott Goodwin, 37, of Scottsbluff and formerly of Ottumwa, Iowa died August 5, 2021 in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 12th at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, Iowa with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Visitation will be open to friends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 11th at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. A private family visitation will be held.  For those unable to attend, you may watch live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery in Iowa.
Memorials may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.

He was born January 10, 1984 in Omaha to Lyle S. and Janice White Goodwin.

A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 2002, he graduated with degrees in Criminal Justice from Indian Hills Community College and Buena Vista University in 2006. Nicholas graduated from Camp #52 of the Nebraska State Patrol in January of 2008. He worked the past 14 years for the Nebraska State Patrol, serving in the Traffic and Carrier Enforcement Divisions stationed in Scottsbluff.

Nicholas enjoyed going on road trips and traveling the open road. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas.

Surviving are his parents, Lyle and Janice Goodwin of Ottumwa, IA; a brother, Matthew (Jodi) Goodwin of Bondurant, IA; uncles and aunts, Terry (Kathy) White of Cumming, GA and Carmen Thomas (Dunnie) of Tucson, AZ; 4 cousins, Dustin (Elizabeth) White, Brittny White, Kourtney (Mitch) Hamilton and Zach Thomas.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Andrew and Marilyn Goodwin, Mardeena and Edward White Jr.
