Michael Shawn Larsen, 51, Scottsbluff
February 29, 1972 - September 29, 2023

The Log Cabin lost a loyal customer on September 29, 2023. Micheal Shawn Larsen of Scottsbluff, passed peacefully in his soul mate’s arms at the age of 51 at their home. Valhalla gained a warrior that day! He was born on February 29, 1972, in Ogden, Utah to Mitch and Teresa Larsen and was automatically accused of being the “favorite child” by his much older sister Christy.  They later moved to Scottsbluff where Micheal graduated in 1990.  In his forties he was “illegally” adopted by the Rodney and Michael Graves and became an essential part of the Graves family.  We all know someone had to keep those boys in line.

Micheal was diagnosed with Metastic Pancreatic Cancer on November 23, 2022, at that time he went on leave from Western Sugar where he had worked for 11 years as a mechanic.  Micheal had alarmingly high blood pressure all those years but amazingly, when he went on medical leave for his terminal cancer, his high blood pressure fixed itself.  It’s in funny how life works! Western Sugar was good to him during his illness so we will leave his choice words out of the obituary but those that know him can hear him now.

Micheal was lovingly known as “Strawberry” by his friends and family.  He was a 6’4” gentle giant who was generous to a fault, a pussy cat at heart, but never sugar coated anything.  He was known for his trademark stubbornness and his inappropriate comments.  Strawberry was Sergeant at Arms for UMF Nebraska Chapter, and he loved his club and his brothers very much.  If he wasn’t at the UMF office working on a bike you could find him riding one of his motorcycles or you could find in him “the RV down by the tracks” similar to “the van down by the river”.  He met his soul mate, Amy Sapp, on August 27, 2022, at the UMF Bald Beaver Run when he tried to outrun her on his motorcycle, and she kept up with him on hers.  Later that day she asked if she could sit on him like a piece of furniture and he knew he would never leave her.

Strawberry was world-renowned for his lack of patience, not holding back his opinion, and had a forte of telling it like it is. He was extremely proficient in the use of four-letter words and loved them almost as much as he loved his motorcycles, his RV, and his Chevy truck. He was a connoisseur of anything that was made at the Log Cabin Restaurant & Lounge in Gering, 44 Ounce Dr Peppers (against Hospice and Amy’s, the Wardens, orders), Lucifer’s Lettuce, and baked goods by Tabitha McCloud.

Micheal is survived by his mother Teresa Larsen of Gering, his older sister Christy Servido and Prince Cassanova of Lincoln, nephews Nicholas Servido of New York and Joey Servido of Omaha, and a niece Marisa (Matt) Prieels of Omaha.  He is also survived by many brothers of the UMF organization and his shield-maiden and soulmate Amy Sapp of Scottsbluff, her children Niko, Anisha, Jena, and Adrian and grandkids Laivyn and Tracer and their animals Dixie, Maggie Kitty, and Baby Kitty (also known has Shitheeed).  He was preceded in death by his father Mitchell Larsen, Dick and Norma Mann, and his previous partner Millie Watts.

Strawberry had a distaste for organized religion so following his wishes he will be cremated and there will not be a funeral service but a “Who the F*&K is Mike Larsen – Celebration of Life Open House at the Log Cabin in Gering on November 11, 2023 (1111) from 4:00pm – 8:00pm in the Lounge.  Micheal and Amy had started working on the concept of a non-profit organization to provide motorcycle enthusiasts with their “Last Rides” due to illness or death.  Any gifts of honor should be made to the Micheal Larsen Memorial at Sugar Valley Federal Credit Union at 1705 21st Avenue, PO Box 745, Scottsbluff, NE 69363 and those funds will go toward the startup of making his dream a reality.  If you need to give him your own well wish, write a note on a can of Fat Tire beer (his favorite) and drink it in his honor. Fond memories and messages of sympathy may be left for the family at www.dugankramer.com

On a serious note, his friends and family want to give their heartfelt thanks to the Hospice team Charlee, Jen, Kristina, and Michelle.  We know that our Warrior gave you a run for your money with his hard head.  We want to make sure that Charlee is given a special pat on the back and a Coke Zero for figuring out a way to make compromises with Strawberry to get him to do things her way!

His final words of advice “Keep Your Dick Beaters off his bikes, trucks, and tools you Cock Suckers!”
