Funeral services for Michael James Durner, age 57 of Cheyenne, Wyoming, who passed Friday July 12th 2024, at Regional West Hospital in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, will be held at the Bartley Cemetery as a graveside service, on Thursday July 18th at 10:00am, with Tim Burke officiating, burial will also be at Bartley Cemetery.
Michael was born on April 25 of 1967 in Omaha, Nebraska and was soon loved by Eldon “James” Durner and Hazel Marie Moore. He received his early education at Arapahoe Public Schools, and later graduating from Arapahoe High School in 1985. Mike then went on to attend a Vocational School for Telecommunications, this was ended to come back and help run the family farm. Michael later came to meet Jill Petersen and were married in January of 1993. They soon were blessed with a son Sean. He later moved to the front range of Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming to be closer to his son Sean. Michael had serval lines of work from farming, to trucking, and ending as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Mike always wanted to make sure that everyone was having a good time and he always enjoyed giving people a hard time.
Michael is survived by his son Sean Durner, daughter in-law Breanna Durner, and his grandson Welsey Durner all of Chillicothe, Ohio, cousin Larry Durner and family of Stockville, Nebraska, as well as many other friends and family members. Michael was preceded in death by his father Eldon Durner on August 10th 1988 and his mother Hazel Durner on April 26th 2015.
