She was born on March 25, 1948 in Wolf Lake IN to Faye and Ben Ruppert. She lived most of her life in Nebraska and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1967.

She married the love of her life, Jerry Schnell, on February 9, 1969 at First Christian Church in Scottsbluff. To this union they had two children, David and Melissa. Her granddaughters Katy, Addison and Cambree were the center of her life and she bragged about them every chance she got.

Besides spending time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed reading and was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. She never missed a game and always looked forward to hearing from her nephew Eric during the game. She adored her son in law Bob Cover and often said that he reminded her of her husband. Her niece Jackie Hoff was like a second daughter to her and she enjoyed all of the conversations and lunches they had. She had a special bond with both of her sisters, Marlene Mikkelson and LaVonne Frakes. She was also blessed to have two very special friends, Margo Snyder and Patty Humphrey, that she had since high school. She was the most selfless person and always there to listen to others. She had a beautiful soul and will be remembered for her love of God, family and friends.

She is survived by her children David Schnell and Melissa Lashley (Bob Cover), her granddaughters Addison Lashley and Cambree Cover, sisters Marlene Mikkelson and LaVonne Frakes, nieces Barbara Kyle (Michael), Jackie Hoff (Dave), Leah Johnson (Mitch), nephews Michael (Rhonda) Frakes and Eric (Dianne) Mikkelson and numerous other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry, parents Ben and Faye Ruppert, in laws Neal and Hilda Gross, best friend and sister in law Janet Carr and her precious granddaughter Katy Cullom (“Her sunshine.”)
