Mary L Livermont, 77, of Mitchell, Nebraska passed away on July, 22, 2023 at Regional West Medical Center. Mary was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on November 5th, 1945, daughter to Augustina Rivera and Joe Hernandez. She was the eldest of eight: Florence, Modesta (Anselmo Jr.), Myra, Paul, and Dennis; and is survived by her son, Andrew Livermont; Lindsey Taylor, daughter in-law (of the late Augustine Livermont); eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; as well as a smattering of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Augustine Livermont, former husband, Stephen Livermont, her parents, as well as her brothers, Richard and Chris
A life spent in limited stature and mobility, Mary expanded the world around her with a fierceness and love that could only be described as grand. She was smart, quick witted, strong, and resilient. Mary worked as a legal aid for Western Nebraska Legal Services, imprinting a legacy as an honorable advocate for the poor – described by co-workers and clients as wonderful and very kind. Mary also worked as a teacher’s aide for many years, making an imprint on the lives of many children. Mary will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.
