Marvin R Loyd, 76 of Gering, Nebraska passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Regional West Medical Center.
Marvin was born January 14, 1947 to Evertt and Dora Loyd in Oshkosh, Nebraska. He graduated from Minatare High School. He entered the US Army during Vietnam and was honorably discharged. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years.
He married Judy on July 29, 1994 and made their home in Gering, Nebraska.
He was a member of Calvary Memorial Church. Marvin enjoyed taking care of his yard, gardening and helping his neighbors.
Survivors include his wife Judy Loyd; children Jenene and Brian Loyd of Denver, Matthew (Jennifer) Chrisman of Mitchell, Elisabeth (Tyler) Woods of Lincoln, Kathy (Josh) Frush of Des Moines; 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evertt and Dora Loyd, wife Ellen Loyd and sisters Mary, Carrie and their spouses.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 11, at 9:30am, with Pastor Gary Hashley officiating at West Lawn Cemetery with military honors. At his request, cremation has taken place.
