Marlene Kay “Mert” Randall (Hyde) passed away on March 7, 2024, in Sahuarita, AZ, at the age of 76. She was born on February 21, 1948, in Hill City, Kansas.

Marlene was a devoted wife to Abe Randall and a loving mother to Mike Albrecht (Jill) and Pamela Staley. Her siblings include, Sherman Hyde, Anna Todd, Don Hyde, and Joyce Griess. Marlene was also a proud grandmother to Eric Albrecht (Amber), Kayla Reeves (Seth), and Amanda Staley. She also had numerous great-grandchildren.

Marlene’s family meant everything to her, especially her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She found immense joy in spending time with them, planning for Christmas, playing games, and creating memories. Marlene had a deep passion for Elvis Presley’s music and enjoyed creating scrapbooks dedicated to him. She also loved solving crossword puzzles, playing dominoes, stamping, and engaging in card games. Marlene’s friendly nature meant she never met a stranger; she loved socializing at Camerons over a cup of coffee every morning.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Elda Hyde, her daughter, Pam Albrecht Staley, and her brother, Don Hyde.

A private celebration of Marlene’s life will be held on March 31, 2024, in Pleasanton, NE. She will be laid to rest on April 1, 2024, at Hill City Memorial Cemetery in Hill City, KS.

Marlene will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
