Marian D Bernhardt, 82 of Gering, Nebraska passed away peacefully Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Heritage Estates in Gering.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. At her request, cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the family to be designated later. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com.
Marian was born on July 13, 1942 in Minatare, Nebraska to Jacob and Minnie (Popp) Weis. She received her early education in Minatare graduating from Minatare High School in 1962. She attended college in Denver from 1962-1963.
She married Fred Bernhardt, Jr in 1974 and together raised three children. They made their home in Scottsbluff, Mitchell and Gering.
She worked at St Joseph Children’s Home in Torrington, Headstart as a teacher and 20+ years at Pizza Hut in Scottsbluff.
She enjoyed spending her time playing bingo, playing at the casinos, and crossword puzzles. She treasured her time with her family and her grandkid activities. She will be missed dearly.
Marian is survived by her daughters Crystal (Ian) Knaub and Christina (Bob) Hughes; grandchildren Ethan Knaub, Sylvia (Jonathan) Waters and Kimberly (Joe) Roberts; great grandchildren Harley Waters, Aillivia Waters, Ayden Reyes, Brantley Lucas and Annasty and Hadley Roberts; daughter-in-law Leslie Weis; brothers and sisters Ruth Weis, Harold (Judy) Weis, and Helen Weinmaster; brother-in-law Donald Bernhardt, sisters-in-law Sherry Weis and Patricia Keahey and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred; son Tim Weis, brother Donald Weis Sr, in-law Bob (Marlene) Bernhardt, Kenny (RoAnne Bernhardt) John Bernhardt, Susie Bernhardt.
