Lyle David “Dave” Brunkhorst, 58, of Mitchell, NE, passed away at home on October 1, 2023. Cremation was chosen and there will be no public services at this time. Bridgman Funeral Home of Scottsbluff is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dave was born January 19, 1965, in Gothenburg, NE, son of Lyle and Verna Dell (Aunspaugh) Brunkhorst. He grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High with the class of 1983. He married the love of his life, Melody Lee on January 20, 1995. A lifelong truck driver, Dave spent many years traveling the country and took scenic routes any chance he got. In his off time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycles and taking trips to the Black Hills with his friends.
Dave is preceded in death by his wife, Melody Brunkhorst; parents, Lyle and Verna Brunkhorst, and brothers Mark and Mike Brunkhorst.
Dave is survived by his daughter Danielle (Jereme); grandkids Elliott and Isla Smith; three nephews, Wayne (Amanda) Brunkhorst, Cassie Brunkhorst, and Nick (Brittanie) Brunkhorst; niece, Desiree (Ben) Sidders; sister-in-law, Paula Brunkhorst, and great friends Jim (Deb) Sanders.
