Lucille V. (Romick) Nuss went to be with the Lord on the 24th day of December 2023 surrounded by her family. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Lucy was born on May 25, 1927, to Fred and Anna Romick in Melbeta, Nebraska. She married John Nuss on January 2, 1944. From that union they had 3 children, Dee Lilla (Nuss) Buddecke (Don Buddecke), Victoria Ann (Nuss) Spelts (Mark Spelts), Jon Lee Nuss (Cindy Bauer).
Jon and Lucy farmed most of their lives near Bayard, Nebraska until 1985 and eventually relocated to Scottsbluff. She enjoyed her 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Lucy enjoyed playing poker, embroidery and loved playing cards with her grandchildren. For over 70 years, Lucy was a member of the Faith United Church of Bayard, Nebraska led by Pastor Tom, her very dear friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brother (Milton Romick), son-in-law (Don Buddecke), sister-in-law (Peggy Romick) and parents.
Lucy is survived by her children and grandchildren, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, 2 brothers Rodney Romick (Mabel) and Tom Romick, and sister- in-law, Mary Jane Romick, multiple nieces and nephews, and special friends Gene and Georgia Weimer and Dean Bealer.
