Lorraine Mary Osthoff, 102, passed away on February 18, 2024 at Heritage Estates in Gering, NE. Cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will be held at a later date at Mitchell Valley Cemetery. Lorraine was born October 2, 1921, to Michael and Clara (Fiedler) Kuchera. She attended grade school at Pine Creek and graduated from Rushville High School in 1939.

She married William (Bill) Osthoff in 1942. They resided in Lubbock, TX while Bill was in the Air Force. They returned to farm in the Sunflower community. She worked at Brown Farm Chemical Company doing clerical work for many years. She graduated from Alliance School of Practical Nursing in 1971. She worked in various nursing jobs over the years. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member for 58 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Lorraine enjoyed reminiscing about the family ranch in Rushville, raising chokecherries to make jelly, and attending the horse races at the Mitchell fairgrounds.

Lorraine is survived by her daughters Diana (Jim) Schaneman of Gering, and Sandra (Jerry) Otto of Ottawa, OH.; daughter-in-law Dannel (Max) Osthoff of Denver, CO.; grandchildren Laurie (Doug) Parker, Justin (Brandy) Schaneman, Lisa Osthoff, Derek (Janel) Osthoff, Greg (Rebecca) Otto, Sheree (Joe) Ruck, Mike( Andrea) Otto, Todd (Chelsey) Otto, Christopher(Gabrielle) Barraza and Kristin Osthoff; and 32 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William; son and daughter-in-law William (Bill) & Karen Osthoff Jr.; son Max Osthoff; granddaughter Julie Osthoff; sisters Thelma Frank, Mickey (Mohrbutter) Brennaman, Mary Schmidt; and brother Edward Kuchera.
