Lola Viola (Batchelor) Severyn was born May 31, 1948, to Dave and Hettie (Case) Batchelor in Grand Junction, Colorado. She grew up in Grand Junction with her brother, Gene, and sisters, Barbara and Betty. Lola liked sports, especially fast pitch softball. She still enjoyed watching a good game even long after she quit playing.

It was 1967 when Lola met the love of her life, the wild, red-headed boy that lived up the street, Lary Severyn. They were married on September 7, 1967, and spent 55 amazing years together. The couple welcomed two daughters, Tammy and Sandy. The family farmed, raced, and shared hundreds of fabulous adventures together.

They moved to Nebraska in 1997 where Lola loved farming with Lary, gardening, meticulously caring for her roses, painting and sewing. Lola and Lary loved racing whether it was at the drag strip, circle track, or hill climbing. Lola was Lary’s chief mechanic, biggest critic, ultimate cheerleader, and greatest fan.

Lola so adored spending time with her grandchildren creating adventures and making countless memories. They could do no wrong until they were replaced by her great-grandchildren. Lola looked forward to the times she shared with her neighbors who became very dear friends, talking with them, and getting to know each other.

Survivors include her partner in crime of 55 years, Lary; her little girls, Tammy Scott and Sandy (Bryan) Romisch; grandchildren, Christina, Daniel, Taylor (Courtney), Candi, April, and James (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Daisha, Kaila, Brieanna, Amyela, Warrington, Ava, AJ, Kenny, Noah, Connor, Paisley, and Bailey; sister, Barbara; brother-in-law, Gordon (Mildred); numerous nieces and nephews; and special family member, Abel Isaga.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws; brother, Gene; sister, Betty; nephews, Earl and Craig; son-in-law, Randy; granddaughter, Melissa; and several angel babies.

The family would like to thank the Regional West Hospice nurses for their great care of Lola and extend a special thanks to Krysttina, who was her nurse angel.
