Leona Jean Wilhelm passed away at the Mitchell Care Center on October 18th, 2023. Cremation has taken place and Celebration of Life services will be announced next spring. She was born in Morrill County to George and Kathrine Betz on November 16th, 1938. She was raised on a farm and attended schools in McGrew and Bayard, Nebraska.
She married Donald Wilhelm in Salem Congregational church on October 25th, 1959. To this union two sons were born Randall Alan and Ryan Scot Wilhelm.
Jean, as she was known to everyone, loved to travel, work in her garden, knit and crochet and make beautiful things for her home. She was a trained/licensed beautician and owned and operated her own shop for 33 years. She was also a great cook and loved hosting family holiday dinners and get togethers.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Don of 64 years, sons Randall (Debra-daughter in law), Henderson Nebraska, Granddaughter Rhianna Wilhelm of Kearney, NE, Granddaughter Katie and Elijah Eubanks of Lincoln, NE. and Great Grandson Truin Eubanks. Son Ryan (Anastasia – daughter in law), San Francisco, California and Grandson Nigel, New York, New York. Sister in laws Tam (Gerry) Grasmick, Sharlene Bauer all from Scottsbluff. Brother-in-law Richard Wilhelm of Julesburg, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 1 sister-in-law and mother and father-in-law.
