Leo Robert Carrillo, 59, of Gering, Nebraska, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at his home. Cremation has taken place and service information for Spring 2023 will be announced when available. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.
Leo was born October 19, 1963, in Scottsbluff to Leo and Rebecca (Valenzuela) Carrillo. He graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1982. He then joined the Army National Guard in the Fall of 1982, serving eight years as a combat medic. It was following his military career that Leo began attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln majoring in English.
Leo married Kim St. Peter in 2000. He lived in Omaha before returning to Scottsbluff in 2011.
He had a passion for old cars and motorcycles. His unique sense of humor will always be remembered by his family and friends.
Survivors include his mother, Rebecca Carrillo; sons, Dane and Cruz Carrillo of Omaha; siblings, Reuben Carrillo and Elaine Carrillo of Scottsbluff; wife, Kim Carrillo of Omaha; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo F. Carrillo; and brother, Anthony Carrillo.
