Lawrence “Larry” Wilson, 78, of Scottsbluff, passed away on August 31, 2023, at home. Cremation has been chosen. Memorial Services will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 6 at Calvary Lutheran Church of Scottsbluff with Reverend Kyle Huckins officiating. A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Memorials are suggested to “Festival of Hope” or “Life Change Connection”. He was born on August 16th, 1945 to Raymon and Helen Wilson in Beatrice, Ne. Larry married the love of his life, Edie Schuerman, on August 24, 1963. To this union they had three sons Mark, Tadd, and Shane.
Larry began employment with the Nebraska Department of Roads in 1965 in Beatrice, then relocated to Scottsbluff in 1975 where he retired in 2008. He and his wife were very active in the 23 Club baseball program for many years where they had spent their summers and made many lifelong friends. Larry took great pride in coaching his sons throughout their baseball careers. He and his wife loved to follow their grandchildren to all of their sporting events. He was an avid Husker football fan, and enjoyed traveling, camping, and golf.
Larry is survived by his wife Edie; his three sons Mark, (Deb) Wilson, Tadd Wilson, and Shane (Shannon) Wilson; four grandchildren Hailee (Zeb) Wilson, Ty (Brooke) Wilson, Tanner (Taylor) Wilson, and Joshua (Kyson) Wilson; three step grandchildren Candi Konley, Tyler (Kaitlyn) Fralin and Morgan Fralin; great grandchildren Jaxen, Beckett, Jace, and Banks; two sister in laws, Barb Schuerman and Cher Schuerman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymon and Helen Wilson; sister Jan Houseman; brother Darrell Wilson; sister in law Katie Wilson; brothers in law Eldor Schuerman, Darryl Schuerman, and Wayne Houseman.
