It is with great sadness that after battling cancer, Kathleen Jo “Kathy” Klein has passed away. Her Celebration of Life will be August 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Church with Pastor Andy Griess officiating. Casual attire or your favorite Nebraska attire is welcomed. Cremation will follow services and the inurnment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Scottsbluff at a later date. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Bridgman Funeral Home in Scottsbluff from 4-7pm. It is respectfully requested that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Kathy’s honor be made in care of Zion Church. Kathleen Jo Meyer Klein was born February 15, 1951, to Nadynne Jo (Dobbin) Meyer and Havey E. Meyer. She attended Lake Alice Country School and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1969. She married Ronald Cape on March 18, 1972, and to this union Christopher P. Cape and Phillip B. Cape were born. They later divorced.

She married Roger E. Klein on March 25, 1997, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kathy managed Conoco Quick Shop for several years. She went to work at First State Bank first as a teller then becoming a personal banker. After retiring from First State Bank, she became a caregiver for bank customers and retired friends.

Kathy and Roger are members of Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

She is survived by her husband, Roger, Christopher and Faith Cape, Phillip Cape, Becci and Kail Bowman, Matt and Hilary Klein, nieces, Lori and Kelly Scott and Lisa Johnston, grandchildren, Taylor E. Cape, Bryan A. Cape, Cameron J. Rein, Tyler S. Cape, Jordynn A. Cape, Isaac Bowman, Tiffany and Christian Bowman, Drake M. Klein, Reid M. Klein and one soon to be great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Nadynne and George Schaaf, Harvey E. Meyer, and brother Dennis (Chuck) Meyer.

She truly loved her dogs throughout the years. (Maestro, Precious, Abby, Winston, and her “half pint”, Phoebie.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Regional West Medical Center and Hospice Nurses Christina, Charlee and Michelle for their excellent care and compassion.
