Katherine Joan Fallas, 62, of Mitchell, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Bridgman Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with Pastor Rick Reisig officiating. Interment will follow at Mitchell City Cemetery. It is respectfully requested that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Katherine’s honor be made in care of the Panhandle Humane Society. Katherine was born June 4, 1960, to Kathleen Kister Keller (deceased) and Gust Fallas (deceased) in Denver Colorado. She worked for KBPI Rocks the Rockies in Colorado as a DJ. She then had her one and only daughter Katherine Jessica Fallas whom she loved dearly. Later Kathy and her daughter both moved in with their grandmother Katherine Vogal Hettinger (deceased) in Mitchell, Nebraska to help care for her at her old age and help with the farms.
Katherine has been in farm management since 2012 when she inherited the family farms. She loved nature and considered herself an herbalist. She loved reading her bible and praising the lord in song and prayer. She loved to sing and dance. She also had lots of love for her animals. She had a huge heart and could always make you laugh.
She will be missed dearly by her daughter Katherine Jessica Fallas who had the honor of caring for her and spending quality time with her up until her journey home to heaven. She is also survived by her brother Troy Kister, her sister Christine Fallas, her uncle Robert Hettinger and her two nieces Shea and Riley Kister.
