In loving memory of Karen Vaughn
Karen Vaughn, age 60, of Scottsbluff passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Karen was born June 15, 1963 in Sidney, Nebraska to Karen (Segelke) and James Banks. She attended Scottsbluff Public Schools, graduating in 1982. After high school, she attended Western Nebraska Community College, where she received her associate’s degree in accounting. Through the years, Karen held many positions, but always enjoyed coming home to her husband, Robert, and sons, Robbie and Adam. After her health no longer allowed her to work, she enjoyed puzzles, coloring, and spending time with her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Vaughn; her mother, Karen Banks; sons, Robbie Vaughn of Scottsbluff and Adam (Becky) Vaughn of Omaha; siblings, Larry Banks of Scottsbluff, Donald (Manuela) Banks of Manhattan, Kansas, Bill Ellwanger of Minatare, Lloyd and Kathy Searles of Gurley, Nebraska, Joanne Rakes of Omaha, and Jennifer (Rick) Nuss of Phoenix, Arizona; sister & brother-in-law Teri & Tim Johnson of Sherwood, Ohio: grandkids, Kaden, Deven, Zander, Luna, Aviana, and Malachi; as well as numerous friends and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Banks; grandparents, Fred and Mildred Segelke; brother, Michael Banks; uncles, Donnie, Kenny, and Gus Rakes; aunt, Darlene; mother-in-law, Nancy Freund; and brother-in-law, Mike Spahr.
