He was born September 8, 1953 at Levelland, Texas, to Jose Moreno Sr. and Rebecca Ruiz Moreno and received his education in the Morrill, Nebraska. He married Augustina Ybarra on October 28, 1972, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and made their home in Scottsbluff and surrounding areas. They spent the last 15 years in North Dakota.

He worked for Alex Pester for many years and drove a semi for numerous years as well. He worked in the Oilfield for 12 years. He loved to work on cars and help his brothers-in-law fix their cars, so they could turn around and blow the engine within a couple of days. He would rebuild the motors repeatedly (he loved doing this). He taught his only son to drive semis and tractors at the age of 6. He taught his two daughters how to work on their own vehicles to teach them independence. He loved to share his gifts with his family and teach them. He also absolutely loved to fish, and if you couldn’t get ahold of him on a nice day, he was at the river fishing. It was his favorite place to take his family anytime they would visit.

Sapo” loved all his grandkids and great-grandkids. In fact, he loved all kids and was always the authoritative father figure in most of his nieces, nephews, and children’s friends’ lives. He was the life of the party, and he enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. He was the best BBQ guy around.
