Jeremy Vernon Jacobs was born on March 22, 1980, to T.C. Jacobs and Mary Ann (Brown) Jacobs in Houston, Texas. Jeremy was raised in Texas, graduating from Round Rock High School in Round Rock, Texas in 1998. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy, where he trained to be a Hull Technician as a welder. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 2002.

He met and married Ray Ann (Lindsey) Tiede while stationed in Japan and two daughters were born: Kaitlyn and Alayna Jacobs. The couple later divorced.

Jeremy moved back to Texas following his military service. It was there he met and then married Julia Friesen on May 26, 2007. Together they welcomed two children: Haylee and Seth Jacobs.

Jeremy worked both in Texas and in Nebraska as a welder for Asero, Case IH, and Hand Machine. Since 2016, he worked as a welder and farm hand at Viking Farms for Greg, Erik, and Davin Peterson. Jeremy took pride in his work and enjoyed new challenges. Viking Farms not only broadened his experience in crop production, but it also provided him with an opportunity to use his welding skills for equipment repairs.

Jeremy loved his wife and children dearly. He made it a priority to pass onto them the hobbies that he loved, including teaching them how to shoot pistols, rifles, shotguns, and bows. He spent countless hours with his son and son-in-law long range shooting and calculating ballistics. He enjoyed bonding with his children while dove, deer, coyote hunting, and fishing. In the summer evenings, his favorite place was around a fire pit, grilling, dancing, listening to music, and roping. He also enjoyed riding horses and helping his children with their 4H animals. He especially loved watching his kids enjoy their own favorite hobbies and was proud of their accomplishments. He loved children and was ecstatic when he found out he would become a grandpa, “Grand Diddy” in October of 2024.

Jeremy was also a Christian, having placed his faith in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Jeremy fought hard during an eighteen-month battle with an aggressive cancer pursuing several treatment options. He entered the presence of Jesus surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, May 3, 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Jacobs; children, Kaitlyn (Dylan) Schumacher, Alayna (Taylor Soule) Jacobs, and Haylee and Seth Jacobs; his anxiously awaited grandson; parents, TC (Vickie) Jacobs and Mary Ann (Stephen) Nelson; siblings, Jessica (Danielle) Curtis-Jacobs, Christopher Andrews, Amy (KC) Crane, Chance (Yoko) Nelson, and Nicki Nelson; in-laws, James Sr. and Peggy Friesen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James (Michele) Friesen, Jeff (Wendy) Friesen, Jon (Leigh Anne) Friesen, Jennifer (Ryan) Krahulik, and Richard (Nikki) Woznick; and many nieces and nephews.
