James W “`Pix” Pierce and Ruth A Pierce, of Gering, have sadly left us this May. Pix passed away on the 15th, and Ruth on the 28th, both of natural causes. A simple graveside service will be held in their honor at 10:30am on May 31, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff with Pastor Herb Rainey officiating. Viewing will be Friday, May 31, 2024, from 8-10am at Bridgman Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Memorial donations may be made to Panhandle Humane Society, Riverside Zoo, or Midwest Theatre. Pix, born Dec 1947 to Jack and Jackie Pierce in Scottsbluff, NE, grew up in the area and graduated from Scottsbluff HS in 1966. He served in the US Army National Guard 1967-74.

Ruth, born Sep 1956 to Colleen and Leroy Bottorff in King City, MO, grew up on a dairy farm near Clarksdale, MO, and graduated from Maysville R-1 in 1974.

They married in 1979, afterwards living in Santa Clara Valley CA, Tampa FL, Scottsbluff NE, Mesa AZ, Gering NE, and Florence AZ.

Both were beloved by many friends in the Scottsbluff area, and they returned to the community to live in Gering early in 2024.

Both Pix and Ruth were members of Friends of Midwest Theater, the Christian Motorcycle Association, and the Central Church of Christ.
