Holly Yvonne Shaw peacefully passed away June 2, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. Her life of 44 years wasn’t easy, she fought to live every day and she continued to love all those around her even through her own battles.
Holly was born August 15, 1978 in Gillette Wy, to Daniel G. Shaw and June Y. (Kienzle) Shaw. The family moved to Bridgeport, NE in 1984. She was lovingly cared for by her mother and father until her mother’s passing in 1993. Holly then went to live in a group home. Holly attended Meridian School and graduated May 14, 1999. At this time Holly went on to “work” at OHD. She had so many loving caretakers and countless amount of lifelong friends. She had a cheerful personality and never met a stranger.
The family is so thankful to all of the people who have helped Holly live a full and wonderful life.
Holly was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
Holly is survived by her sisters Heather Shaw (Ryan), Heidi Rushman (Anthony); nephews Trenton Rushman, Kaleb Miller; niece Adyleigh Rushman; her Guardians Larry and June Neiger; their children Cindy Schanhols (Gary), Travis Neiger (Kelli), Jason Neiger (Jamie), Crystal Batt (Brooks), grandchildren; Elijah Simmons, Brandon Neiger (Dontae), Jordyn Neiger, Jeremiah Neiger, Jaron Neiger, Lucas Newhoff, Josiah Neiger, and Baylor Batt. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
Holly always had a smile, never knew a stranger, and loved unconditionally.
A visitation for Holly will be held Monday, June 5, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home & Crematory, Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023 with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Christ, Bridgeport, Nebraska. Interment will follow at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery, Bridgeport, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date.
