Harold Allen Sorensen

Harold Allen Sorensen
March 3, 1927 - January 7, 2023

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with Thanksgiving what God has done through his servant Harold.

Harold Allen Sorensen was born in Gering, Nebraska on March 3, 1927 to parents Otto and Stella Sorensen. He was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism and was confirmed in the Christian faith and was fed the life-giving body and blood of Jesus.

He was united in holy marriage to Adella Denke on March 2, 1968 and blessed with 44 years of married life together. God also blessed them with the gift of a child through adoption: Wendy Sue. God blessed Harold’s life with many special people as he served God in his military service in the U.S. Army in WWII, vocations at home, church, work and in the community.

On January 7, 2023, God called Harold home to Heaven.

He is survived by his sister Glendora (Jack) Duensing; sisters-in-law Christina (Julius) Eisenbraun and Linda Denke; daughter Wendy (Scott) Streeks; grandson Brandon (Shaeli) Streeks; granddaughter Tayley Streeks; great grandchildren Ella and Nathan Streeks.

He was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Stella Sorensen, wife Adella Sorensen, brother-in-law Dan Denke, sister-in-law Alice (Wesley) Dewey.

Funeral services for Harold Allen Sorensen will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Neugebauer officiating.
