Gwen Clarice Johnson passed away on May 25th, 2023, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Gwen was born November 20, 1959 in Scottsbluff to Willard and Valorie Russell of Minatare, Nebraska. She graduated high school in 1979, and the attended Western Community College. After college, she was employed at Scottsbluff Body and Paint as office manager for forty years. She married Bob Johnson on February 14, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Gwen was an avid gardener and looked forward each year to her fresh veggies and beautiful flowers. She was an excellent hostess, a great cook, and entertained many family dinners. She was an animal lover, especially her yellow lab, Molly, and her current best buddy, “Gunner”.

Gwen loved playing volley ball on a team where she made and enjoyed many friendships.

Gwen is survived by her husband, Bob; step-sons, Zachary and Trevor (Lindsey) Johnson; step-grandchildren, Tristen, Ella, and Landon Johnson; her brother, Kit Russell; nephew, Darrel Freof; brother-in-law, Don Freof; mother-in-law, Joella Johnson; sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Clay and Donna Skinner; nephews, Mike and Matt Tucker; great-nieces, Vivan and Savanna Tucker; numerouse cousins; and best friend, Donna Houstan.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Valorie Russel; sister, Dorothy Freof; father-in-law, Don Johnson; and both sets of grandparents.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She fought a hard fight for eight and a half years, is now free from pain and suffering, and is at peace.

We would like to thank all providers in the Oncology-Infusion Center and PCU at Regional West Medical Center for their extraordinary care.

A visitation for Gwen will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home with the funeral service Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Dugan-Kramer. Interment will be at Mitchell Cemetery.
