Glen E Johns, 93 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 at Monument Rehab and Care Center.

His memorial service will be Saturday, June 15,2024 at 11:00 am at Melbeta Methodist Church with Pastor Bev Russell officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Nebraska Army National Guard and American Legion Post #36, Gering. Memorials may be given to the Panhandle Humane Society in Glen’s name. Glen was born on November 29, 1930 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Ernest and Margaret (Nichols) Johns. He received his early education in Creighton Valley, graduating from Gering High School. He graduated from Greeley College. He was a 6th grade teacher in Minatare for a year. He entered the US Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954.

On March 4, 1956, he married Betty Jo Brown in Raton, NM and to this union Mark and Leesa were born. He went into business with Roy Corr (Corr Johns, a radio repair and supply store). They lived in Gering until 1960, then they moved to North Platte, NE where he owned and managed TNC Electronics. Glen taught at the VO Tech at the Mid Plains College in North Platte, teaching electronics.

Returning to Gering in 1986 to join his brother Clyde, retiring from the business in 1990.

He was an active member of the BPO Elks.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, deep sea fishing in Oregon, loved to travel with RCA trips. Glen was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything.

Survivors include his son Mark (Leslie) Johns and daughter Leesa (Everett) Lane, grandchildren Mike (Brooke) Johns, Matt (Gina) Johns, Mollie (Aaron) Finney, Bryan (Sara) Miksell and Kortni Lane, 8 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Lois Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Jo, brothers Walter and Clyde and sister Alice.
