Garry Gene Teghtmeyer, 76, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, February 22, 2024. There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Garry Teghtmeyer Memorial for the family to designate at a later time. Garry was born on October 26, 1947, in Monte Vista, Colorado to Charles and Glenna (Fulker) Teghtmeyer. He was united in marriage to Peggy (Brand) Teghtmeyer on March 25, 1978 in Holdrege, NE. They were blessed with a daughter, Anna.
Garry went to school at Emporia State Teachers College. He did sports announcing in Durango, CO, for KUVR in Holdrege, NE, and for KOLT in Scottsbluff, NE. He then went to Kmart where he became the head of photo department and lab. He finished out his working career as a crossing guard. He enjoyed directing the bell choir at church and playing in the community bands.
Garry is survived by his wife Peggy Teghtmeyer of Scottsbluff, NE; daughter, Anna Teghtmeyer of Scottsbluff, NE; sisters, Jill (Don) Jespersen of Pueblo, CO, Joyce Teghtmeyer of Weatherford, OK; and an aunt, Mabel Korbitz of Colorado Springs, CO.
He joins in eternal rest his parents, Charles and Glenna Teghtmeyer.
