Freddy Allen Steffensmeier “87” of Bridgeport Nebraska passed away the evening of February 2 2024 at the Bridgeport Morrill County Hospital with his good friend Justin Loomis by his side.
He was born December 14, 1936 in Bayard Nebraska to Fred and Mable Steffensmeier. He was the youngest of 9 children. He was the All-Round Winner of the Camp Clark Stamped Rodeo in Bridgeport Nebraska. Winning in saddle bronc, bareback, and bull riding. He was one of the great “True Cowboy’s”.
He was extremely close to his sister “Wilma Jean Snider, who passed away in 2022, and his Niece “Debi Snider Matchen”. No matter where they were they never missed talking together every Saturday night prompt at 6:00 PM. This continued with his niece Debi until the Saturday prior to his death.
He will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
Freddie is survived and greatly missed by his nieces, Debi Snider Matchen of Casper, WY, and Jolene Snider Tjaden of Grand Island, NE, and many more nieces and nephews.
Freddie was laid to rest February 16, 2024 at the Bayard Cemetery, Bayard Nebraska near his sister Wilma Jean Snider. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.bridgeportmemorialchapel.com.
