Frances Abel, 88, of Scottsbluff went to her Heavenly Home on April 28, 2023, at the Medical Center of the Rockies. Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel is assisting the family, and tributes of sympathy may be shared online at www.dugankramer.com. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
Frances was born March 27, 1935, to Jim and Pauline Bryan. She met the love her life, Leonard Abel, while he was stationed at Camp Chaffee, AR. They were married on March 6, 1955 in Scottsbluff, NE. To this union, two daughters were born, Renee and Debra. She loved caring for her daughters and twin grandsons, who were the light of her life. The family farmed in Mitchell, NE, from 1955 to 1993. Frances was very active at Calvary Memorial Church in Gering through the years.
Survivors include her daughters, Renee Koegle and Debi (Gary) Martin; grandsons, Justin and Jon Koegle, Matt (Andrea) Simianer and Mike (Sammy) Simianer; great-grandchildren, Alli, Lenny, and Pax; sister-in-law, Pat Abel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, step-father, great-granddaughter, siblings, and numerous other family members.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the Western Nebraska Veterans Home or Calvary Memorial Church.
