Elida C (Cortinas) Aguayo, 67 of Mitchell passed away on July 1, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Mitchell with Father Mike McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm, Friday, July 7 and visitation from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Elida was born June 16, 1956 in Ballinger, Texas to Joe and Eugenia (Luna) Cortinas. She attended Mitchell Schools.
She married Ruben Aguayo on February 24, 1976 in Torrington, Wyoming, they had three children Jessie, Rosalinda and Ruben Jr.
Elida loved spending time with family, cooking for everyone. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She had a great love for God and was involved in her local church. She made everyone around her feel special and comfortable, welcoming all with an amazing laugh and smile. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include: her husband Ruben Aguayo; sons Jessie Aguayo and Ruben Aguayo, Jr (Victoria Silas); daughter Roslinda Gutierrez (Chris); grandchildren Antonio Gutierrez, Angelica Gutierrez, Sophia Aguayo, Noel Aguayo, and Silas Silas Jr; sister Anna Barragan; brothers George Cortinez, Johnny (Jan) Cortinas and Pete Cortinez and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Elida was preceded in death by her parents, brother Damacio Luna Cortinaz and nephew Carlos E Chavez.
