Doris Rae Trout, age 83 of Gering Nebraska, entered Heaven on August 25, 2024. Her Graveside service will be held 9AM on Friday, September 27, 2024, at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with Pastor Joe Petersen of WestWay Christian Church officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place at the Bridgman Funeral Home Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Joshua’s Storehouse 334 S Wolcott St, Casper WY 82601. Doris was born July 13, 1941, in Ansley, NE to Walter and Mabel (Predmore) Nelson. She was married to Ralph James (Jim) Miller from 1958 until his passing in 1974. Five children were born in their marriage, James, Janet, Jurene Kay, Ben, and Robert (Bob) Miller. She married Stephen (Steve) Hardwick in 1975 until his passing in 1976, and Fred J Trout in 1977 until his passing in 2007. She worked numerous waitressing jobs, in home laundering, Gering Schools (cook), Scottsbluff Veterans Home (Cook), and Brown’s Sheep Company until her retirement. After her retirement Doris moved to Casper WY. While in Casper she began volunteering at Joshua’s Storehouse.
Mom enjoyed life and took pride in her yard. She loved her family, cooking and volunteering.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters Jurene Kay and Penni; husbands Jim, Steve, and Fred; brothers-in-law Bob Todd and Clifford Johnston.
Survivors include her children Daniel (Sheri) Trout of California, Jim (Linda) Miller of Gering, Janet Miller of Scottsbluff, Ben (Karen) Miller of Torrington, and Bob (Stephanie) Miller of Rapid City; 27 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters Jan Todd and Connie Johnston; brother Ron (Holly) Nelson; brother and sister-in-law Jack and Sandy Miller; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Kandy, Holly, Candice, Tammy, John, Carolyn, Debra, Laura, Fritz, Sue, Garnetta, Debborah, Jay, Ron, Katherine, Kim P, and Kim H.
