Dennis Bartlett, 70, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away on December 27, in his home. At his bequest, cremation has occurred and there will be no service. Dennis was a longtime resident of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and business owner of Bluffs Scale Service. He lived there with Joyce, his wife of 49 years.
He was born in Rutland, Vermont and spent his earlier life in that area where his large extended family lived. He spent much time at the LaVictoire farm in Chippenhook, Vermont. He met Joyce Rousseau in high school and married. They moved to Denver, Colorado and following in his father’s footsteps, he went to work for a scale company. They later moved to Scottsbluff where he eventually owned Bluffs Scale which he retired from two years ago.
Dennis was an avid outdoorsman. He loved shooting matches, working on the Bluffs Shooters range and gun shows. He was a committee member of Ducks Unlimited for many years. One of his favorite places to spend time was at the cabin just outside Yellowstone with his close friends. He was an animal lover, and his best friend was his cat, Sammy.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents George and Juliette Bartlett.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Bartlett; his sisters Carol (Tom) Anderson, Sharon Jensen (Ray Johnson), Lori (Paul) VanLaningham; his sisters-in-law Jan Rousseau and Ellen Rousseau, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
