Delorse L. Burkman was born to John and Katherine (Borgens) Kisler, January 29th, 1929, the tenth of eleven children with five brothers and five sisters. She grew up in the McGrew and Bayard, Nebraska, area, graduating from McGrew High School in 1948. Delorse worked for JC Penny, the Star Herald, Scotts Bluff County Clerk, and county road department, retiring in 1993.

She married Robert Clair Burkman of Lake Alice in 1953, and had one daughter, Robin Callie, who was much loved, was born in 1955.

Delorse traveled and visited family quite often, enjoying locations in Florida, California, Washington, and a 10 day sister trip to Hawaii.

She suffered from polyneuropathy, but did not let that stop her from enjoying her life.

She was a foster grandparent for over 10 years and enjoyed her “job” very much. They were her kids!

Delorse was a longtime member of the Mitchell Evangelical Free Church. Her church friends became like family and would often include her in their family functions.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Robin; and all of her siblings, Victor Kisler, Florine McEwan, Ernest Kisler, Elizabeth Weidenkeller, Katherine Kaufman, Lucille Waugh Rahmig, Alma Kalder, John Kisler, Richard Kisler, and William Kisler.

She loved all of her friends and especially her nieces and nephews who she is survived by.
