Deloris Lockman, 80, of Mitchell NE passed away at Goshen Care Center in Torrington WY on June 20, 2023. Cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date at Lake Minatare.
Deloris was born December 26, 1942, in Scottsbluff NE to Albert and Florence (Foster) Green. As the oldest of four children, she had many responsibilities around the family farm including taking care of the animals and her younger siblings. She attended Scottsbluff High School, graduating in 1961. She married Ronald Lockman on December 1, 1963, and the couple made their home in rural Mitchell. From this union two children were born, Kimberly and Mark. After graduation, Deloris went to work as a nurse’s aide at St. Mary’s Hospital. This is where she found her true calling and she went on to work in a general practice office for Dr. Carl Frank until his retirement. She then worked for Masek’s in Gering for several years and finished her working career at Aurora Loan Services. After retiring she took care of her home and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved dogs. She loved dachshunds most of all and had several throughout her adult life. Deloris loved camping at the lake and spent most summer weekends there. It truly was her “happy place”.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Lockman of Mitchell, daughter Kim (Kent) Mueller of Mitchell, son Mark Lockman (Missi Nuss) of Scottsbluff; Grandchildren, Nathan Schlothauer of Mitchell, Katie Mueller of Mitchell, Cody Mueller of Chicago IL; great-granddaughter Eddisyn Hill of Mitchell, and one more great-grandchild on the way; Sister Joanne (Louis) Ahlers of Gering, and brother Bob (Alma) Green of Gering
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Green and sister-in-law Roberta Green.
