Dale A. Weitzel, 57, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, died unexpectedly, Monday, October 3, 2022, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Dale was born April 25, 1965, in Scottsbluff, to Robert and Susan (Last Horse) Weitzel. He attended Minatare High School where he was active in football, basketball, and track. Dale graduated from high school and immediately entered the work force. He did several agriculture-related jobs, but was mostly employed as a ditch rider, a career he loved.
Dale married Denise Aldrich and to this union twin daughters were born, Dakotah and Destiny. The couple later divorced.
He liked spending time with family and friends watching his favorite team, the Nebraska Huskers. He was outspoken but said what needed to be said nicely and with consideration of others. Dale had a kind-hearted personality and could always put a smile on your face. He sincerely enjoyed being around people and making new friendships. Dale suffered from multiple heart issues over the years, but he never complained and was always very positive, doing his best to remain active. He was a loving grandpa and adored by his grandkids who will miss him dearly.
Survivors include his mom, Susan Weitzel of Gering; daughters, Dakotah and Destiny Weitzel of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Skye Lee Weitzel, Messiah Rain McCloskey, Zyaire Atticus Canseco, Zakai Davyne Weitzel, Omadius Moises Peña, and another grandchild on the way; girlfriend, Mary Garcia and her daughter, Amelia Garcia of Scottsbluff; siblings, Tim (Jeanie) Tapster of Lingle, WY, Pete (Rosemary) Weitzel of Scottsbluff, Sandy (Tim) Schuldies of Minatare, Lucy (Scott) Lang of Gering, Karen Weitzel of Gering, Betty Ann Christy of Douglas, WY, and William Weitzel of Gering; along with other extended family members and numerous friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, Robert; brother, Robert; and sister-in-law, Dee Tapster.
