Our beloved and beautiful daughter, sister, wife, mother, and niece, Courtney Marie, was tragically taken from us too soon on, Sunday May 12th, 2024, at the tender age of 36. Courtney brought immeasurable joy and laughter into our lives with her kind heart, radiant smile, contiguous laugh and compassion for life. She was always looking for her next friend to greet or adventure to experience.
Cremation has already taken place and inurnment with be in Las Vegas, Nevada. A “celebration of her life” service will be held on Saturday, August 24th, 2024 at 10:00 am at Dugan Kramer Funeral Home in Scottsbluff, NE. In lieu of flowers, donations will be placed in a college account for her children.
Courtney was born on September 16th, 1987 in Scottsbluff, NE to Ron and Barbara Mikoloyck at Regional West Medical Center. They were gifted with a beautiful baby girl who was truly their gift from God. She grew up in Morrill, NE with her mother, brother (Nathan) and beloved dog (Scruffy). She enjoyed spending time with her grandparents and aunts in Morrill. She attended Morrill Elementary and Morrill High school. She participated in numerous extracurricular activities throughout school years. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School in May 2006. While attending Scottsbluff High school she met her husband and forever love, Derek Pattinson.
Courtney and Derek were wed on July 30th, 2011 at Barn Anew in Scottsbluff, NE. The couple followed their dreams for adventure and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to start their lives together. They were blessed with two beautiful and amazing children a son and daughter. Xavier Robert, age 9 and Xylia ‘Lia” Elaine, age 6. The couple then added to the family, Rosie, their golden retriever. Courtney thrived as a wife and mother. Her children were the center of her life and world. She would tell them “I love you to the moon and beyond!” Any little thing she could do for her children she did. These included making team goodie bags for soccer and football, organizing Easter egg hunts and helping with school activities. She was an accomplished cook and baker. Courtney loved decorating her home for the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. She would decorate both inside and outside their home. As her children got older they loved to help Mommy decorate. Whether it was putting up the outside giant spider, spider webs, and ghosts for Halloween or her elaborate Christmas village complete with ski lift, ice skating ring, shops, ferris wheel, traffic lights and people.
Courtney is survived by her husband (Derek) and children Xavier and Xylia, parents Barbara (Ted) Ross of Scottsbluff, NE, Ron ( Analou) Mikoloyck of North Platte, NE, brother (Nathan Faulkner) of Scottsbluff, NE. Her aunts Debbie Gatti of Smithfield, VA, Linda Hammack of Scottsbluff, NE, Becky Nerud of Scottsbluff, NE, JoAnn (Doug) Farran of David City, NE and uncle Steve Mikoloyck of Sidney, NE. In-laws Sandy (Joel) Pattinson, Las Vegas, NV.
She was preceded by her grandparents Robert “Bob” and Bette Hammack of Morrill, Don and Phyllis Mikoloyck of Oshkosh and Warren and Ruth Ross of Scottsbluff, Aunt Suzanne “Suzie” Hammack of Morrill, NE, husband’s grandparents Dan and Ermena Ferreyra of Scottsbluff, NE. Her smile and laughter will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
