Connie Z. Chavez, 65, of Scottsbluff, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family at her side Thursday, July 21, 2022. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering with Fr. Mike McDonald as Celebrant. Cremation has taken place in accordance with Connie’s wishes. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Online condolences can be expressed at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Connie was born April 24, 1957, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Jesus “Tito” and Petra (Zamarripa) Garcia. She attended McKinley Elementary School and later Gering High School.

Connie was united in marriage to Frank Chavez on November 13, 1980, in Torrington, Wyoming.

Connie previously worked at Western Sugar, but she primarily dedicated her life to caring for others. She enjoyed listening to music and cooking delicious meals for her family and friends.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Connie nurtured her own family, while also opening her home to anyone in need. She was giving and in doing so, found a special kind of fulfillment. Earthly possessions were few for Connie, but her relationships with those close to her and the way she made them feel was priceless.

Survivors include her husband, Frank; mother, Petra Garcia; children, Mario (Priscilla) Chavez, Kristopher (Lana) Booker, Arista Booker, Adam (Nicole) Chavez, and Maximilliano Chavez; grandchildren, Quinton Chavez, Zavannah Chavez, Aaliyah Chavez, RaVayah Chavez, Phoenix Chavez, Hendirix Chavez, Ciera Booker-Williams, Jazmine Booker, Keon Booker, Kian Condon, Terrance Hessler, Keegan Hessler, Davyn Hessler, Kortez Booker, Kash Booker, Yiselle Booker, Kennedi Chavez and Alianna Chavez; three brothers, Jesus, Daniel, and Samuel Garcia; sisters, Belen Booker and Anna Garcia; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her father, Jesus “Tito” Garcia; and brother, Abel Garcia.
